Occupational Badges in the Air Force
Occupational Badges show a service member's job or specialty in the Air Force.
For General Officers:
- Start with the basic badge when joining a new command or staff role.
- After 12 months, they move to the next higher badge.
- They keep upgrading to a higher badge every 12 months.
For Officers:
- Get the basic badge after finishing technical school or when fully qualified for their job (if no technical school is needed).
- After 7 years in the specialty, they earn the senior badge.
- After 15 years in the specialty, they earn the master badge.
For Enlisted Members:
- Basic Badge: Earned after completing technical school at 3-skill level.
- Senior Badge: Earned after reaching the 7-skill level (usually after gaining more experience in the job).
- Master Badge: Earned when reaching the rank of Master Sergeant or above and having 5 years in the specialty from earning the 7-skill level.
Enlisted Skill Levels:
- 1 (Helper): Recruits or trainees in technical school, learning basic skills.
- 3 (Apprentice): Technical school graduates applying and expanding their job skills.
- 5 (Journeyman): Experienced airmen functioning as front-line technicians and initial trainers.
- 7 (Craftsman): Airmen with many years of experience, responsible for supervision and training.
- 9 (Superintendent): Senior Master Sergeants and above, with at least 14 years of experience, overseeing broad supervision.

We provide shipping at a low rate to all customers within the continental United States. We will choose the best service (UPS or USPS ) on a per-order basis at the time of shipment.
For our customers in APO/FPO locations, Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Territories we will need to apply shipping charges due to the expensive nature of sending orders to these locations. Please note that we have done our very best to offer our customers in these regions a fair shipping rate.
